Your first Sunday

How a Sunday morning goes

  1. Arrive and park

Pull into the church lot at the corner of Route 28 and Mill Creek Road. A few minutes early gives you time to settle in.

  2. Worship together

We begin at 10:00 with singing and prayer. Kids start the morning in the service with their families.

  3. Hear God's Word

Right before the sermon, kids head to Children's Church. We read the Scripture together, hear a sermon from it, and close in prayer and song.

  4. Stay for dinner

Everyone is invited to stay for our potluck dinner and fellowship in the fellowship hall. You don't need to bring anything.

What worship is like

Bible teaching you can follow

Our sermons work through books of the Bible, one passage at a time, so you can follow along week to week. Right now we're in the Book of Joshua.

Bring a Bible if you have one. If you don't, that's okay too.

Bringing kids

Your kids are welcome here

Every family does Sunday a little differently, so there are a few ways to make it work for yours.

Nursery

Care for infants is available during the service.

Children's Church

Kids are dismissed right before the sermon for a Bible lesson of their own, using the Awana Brite curriculum.

Stay together

Prefer to keep your little ones close? Watch the service on a live video feed in the fellowship hall.

On Thursday nights during the school year, kids in preschool through 4th grade can join Awana Club, and students in 5th through 12th grade can join YFC.

Questions

Good things to know

What time should I arrive?

Worship starts at 10:00 AM. Arriving 10 minutes early gives you time to park, find a seat, and get your kids settled.

How long is the service?

About an hour and a half, from 10:00 to about 11:30.

Do I need to bring food to the potluck?

No. Our potluck dinner happens every Sunday in the fellowship hall, and no one is expected to bring anything. Everyone is invited to stay, especially first-time guests.

What kind of church is this?

We're an independent, non-denominational church. We've been on Main Street since 1911 and became the South Chatham Community Church in 1969. We're evangelical in our witness, committed to the authority of the Bible, and congregational in how we're governed.

Can I watch online first?

Yes. Every Sunday service streams live on our Facebook page, and past sermons are on our Sermons page.

What do you believe?

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word, that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and that the church exists to worship God and make disciples. You can read our full Statement of Belief.
